Prayer is central to life at Our Lady Catholic Primary School and is woven naturally into the rhythm of each school day. It stands at the heart of our mission, supporting pupils’ spiritual development and helping them grow in a close, personal relationship with God. Children are given regular opportunities to pray both privately and as a community, creating moments for personal reflection as well as shared worship. Prayer is expressed in many forms across the school – quiet contemplation, movement, song, and traditional Catholic prayers – ensuring that every pupil can participate in ways that are meaningful and accessible to them. Through these varied experiences, prayer becomes a lived and active part of daily school life.
Prayer Progression
Prayer progression is carefully considered as the children move through school. When they join us in Reception, they are welcomed with a 'Welcome Service' and are presented with their own Prayer Book.

The school community gathers to learn together, share successes, and give thanks for our week together. Pupils in each class receive Star of the Week, Good Shepherd award to celebrate the way that they have lived out our School values. |
Masses and Class Assemblies
Throughout the year, we celebrate the Sacrament of the Eucharist at Our Lady, Queen of Apostles Church. We also attend church throughout the year as part of our class Masses across the school. Children help to prepare and lead the Mass through altar serving, reading and bringing up the gifts during Mass. Parents and carers are also invited to join us for all Masses and assemblies.
