We are delighted to share the outcome of our recent Ofsted inspection, which took place on 10th and 11th March 2026.
Our Lady Catholic Primary School was judged to be meeting expected standards across all areas, with our Personal Development and Wellbeing programme being recognised as being ‘strong’.
This outcome is a reflection of the exceptional work of our children, staff, parents, governors and the wider school community. The report praises the ‘over-riding culture of respect and kindness [that] permeates the school’ and recognises that ‘everyone is included at Our Lady.’ It also praises the ‘warm and nurturing’ relationships between pupils and staff, which are central to our school ethos.
Inspectors spoke very positively about behaviour across the school, noting pupils’ enthusiasm for supporting one another as a key strength. They also recognised the breadth of enrichment opportunities we provide, including workshops, assemblies, educational visits and a wide range of extra-curricular activities, alongside our strong focus on leadership, character development and wellbeing.
The quality of education was another significant strength identified. Inspectors praised our ‘ambitious and well-sequenced’ curriculum, which provides ‘a high-quality education’ and prepares pupils extremely well for life in modern Britain. They noted how effectively pupils build secure foundations in reading, writing and mathematics before progressing to more complex learning. Inspectors also recognised our strong commitment to reading, our partnership with families to support learning at home, and our inclusive approach to ensuring all pupils (particularly the most vulnerable) are supported to thrive. The impact of our Personal Development programme was described as ‘remarkable’ - with pupils leaving Year 6 as ‘resilient, independent and responsible young people’.
As a school community, we should all be immensely proud of this recognition, but even more so of the fact that our children feel happy, safe and proud to belong to the Our Lady community.
