OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning)
We are delighted to announce that Our Lady School has completed it’s OPAL journey and has achieved the OPAL Gold Award for its commitment to improving outdoor play and learning opportunities for pupils. This award recognises schools that have sustained and evaluated their high-quality outdoor play provision, which includes activities like den-building, using sandpits, performing on a stage, leading to improved child well-being and enjoyment of school.
This award is a national recognition for schools that have successfully and consistently provided high-quality outdoor play experiences.
OPAL is an award-winning, mentor supported school improvement programme that addresses all the areas that schools must plan for if they want to improve the quality of their play opportunities. OPAL is the only programme of its kind that has been independently proven to sustainably improve the quality of play in British primary schools.
