Welcome to Year 3!

World Book Day
Fr. Norbert came to distribute ashes to mark the start of Lent.
As part of their topic on Plants, Year 3 had to dig up weeds and create detailed drawings of their roots!
In Year Three, we have been learning about how shadows are formed and how they change throughout the day. We drew round our partner’s shadow at different times of the school day and discussed how they looked different every time! We found out that shadows are shortest around lunch time as that is when the sun is at its highest point in the sky.
As a ‘hook’ for the new book Year 3 will be reading in English, the children investigated a crime scene found in the hall this morning! Mrs Lee had gone missing and her mug was found on the floor! The children had to take fingerprints, write open questions and draw and label the crime scene. They then had to question the three main suspects: Mr Curry, Mrs Young and Miss Gorman!
22nd April 2020, Lucasz has done some lovely work on Forces:
When the vehicle has a smoother surface it travels faster and moves further, when it has a rougher surface it travels slower.
