Bonfire Night and Diwali

We have had a great first week back at school!

 

We have been looking at the celebrations of Bonfire Night and Diwali.

 

We found out about the history of Bonfire Night and made a model of Guy Fawkes. We also made mini Guy Fawkes' out of lolly sticks. On Tuesday, we had a bonfire and threw Guy Fawkes onto the fire. It was great fun! We also made edible sparklers and painted some fireworks.

 

We learnt about the Hindu festival of light as well. We found out about how they decorate and celebrate and what food they eat. After, we made our own Diva lamps.

 

In phonics, we have been recapping the sounds and phonemes from last half term.

 

In maths, we have been learning about how to make the number 5.
